This Gallery of Classic gun leather offers a variety
of historically authentic reproductions of the 'Mexican loop' holster.
This style was made famous in the 1870's by makers such as F. A. Meanea of
Cheyenne, Wyoming. The 'Cheyenne Rig' was the preferred style of Butch
Cassidy, William Bonney, The James Brothers and many other legendary
gunfighters.
Each holster is artistically constructed featuring saddle-stitched premium grade leather, fully lined with grained buffalo hide, then finished to a high luster patina using the optional 'bone slick' technique. Model SLCS 215 features a hand laced rawhide main seam.
These holsters are top quality in detail and workmanship, and will certainly compliment your 1870's period outfit. Each piece is signed and numbered by the maker. Select a matching gunbelt featured on our accessories page.
Colors: Saddle Tan, Antique Brown, Mountain Mahogany.
Historical note:
Jessie wore his 'Cheyenne Rig' right handed on his strong side below his rifle cartridge belt.
